Tomorrow, February 16, officially starts the North Market’s Fiery Foods weekend.  From unique vendors to fiery foods cooking and eating contests plus kids activities and live music there’s something for everyone.

Want to be a part of this hot weekend? From homemade Guacamole and Salsa contests to fiery food eating contests there’s plenty of ways for folks to get in on the action.

I’ll be participating in the Chef Chili Challenge again this year. My goal is to come home with the title of “North Market Chili Champ 2013.” I’m up against several other merchants and chefs from local restaurants.

I take this contest very seriously. In fact, I already started my preparations yesterday. Here’s a sneak peek of what I’ve been cooking:

Browning lamb and pork in our custom chili seasoning with peppers and onions. Plus making veggie stock.

If you’re in the mood for chili stop by and see us. We have a custom house blend chili mix that will make your mouth water. We also have plenty of ways to add flavor or heat to your favorite chili recipe.
